Autumn is a great season: Halloween turns to Thanksgiving as the leaves crisp into vibrant reds and browns, while everything gets just a bit cozier, and many Pinterest-worthy date ideas arise. This season, romantic evenings with a boyfriend, walks with a girlfriend, pumpkin picking with your significant other, or friend dates over lattes can create unique and lasting memories.
The first, and probably the most popular Fall date idea is Apple picking. Every year, when Autumn comes around, apple orchards become filled with teenage couples and groups of friends picking apples in their sweaters and jeans. Even though this is a very popular place to be in the fall, it is definitely a fun hangout! Around Lincoln-Sudbury, there are a couple of possibilities of apple orchards nearby. There are a few pretty close to the school in Stow, including Honey Pot Hill Orchards, Shelburne Farm, and Carver Hill Orchard. These are all great spots to go if you’re in the mood for some apple picking!
A corn maze or a hayride is another festive autumn activity that most high schoolers would love! Many farms near LS offer hayrides, including Hanson’s farm in Framingham, MA. Hayrides give you an opportunity to talk and spend quality time with your date with the sight of red, orange, and yellow leaves falling around you. Another very fall-oriented date could be going through a corn maze together. Honey Pot Hill Orchards offers a few mazes, as well as Hanson’s farm. Solving a maze together is a great way to have fun and see how well you work together!
If you have a car, going to a drive-in movie is another fantastic date idea. It’s probably not as popular in the Lincoln-Sudbury area because there aren’t too many close by, but this 50-minute trip down to Mendon, MA, could be just as fun, and definitely worth it!
Another memorable date idea for LS students in the Fall includes anything in Boston! There are so many great Boston activities that would be perfect for a crisp Autumn day. One example is walking around the Newbury Street area. There are shopping and restaurants that will keep you very busy. The city looks beautiful with all of the fall foliage, and it’s definitely worth a day trip with a date or a friend!
If you’re feeling too cozy to leave home, baking with fall flora is the perfect date. Working together on a pumpkin pie or competing to design the best apple pie contest, this is not only adorable but leaves you with dessert, and if you don’t have much of a sweet tooth, cook dinner together. Make homemade pasta, or watch a cooking show to recreate the dish. Then set a fancy table and enjoy your hard work!
Last but not least, there are many fall crafts that will leave you with an adorable homemade keepsake. Find a cute craft online you want to create, then head to Target or a craft store to grab some supplies. There are many examples of fall craft opportunities, including painting leaves or carving pumpkins. Another craft that has been floating around the internet is the eye color bracelets. This is an adorable trend where you get beads with both of your eye colors and make cute bracelets that you’ll actually wear!
