1. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before
This Netflix film has been deservingly a go-to teenage movie since 2018. This movie was originally a book written by Jenny Han, who also was the director and creator of the hit show, The Summer I Turned Pretty. To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before follows a high school girl named Lara Jean whose secret letters get sent that weren’t supposed to be seen by anybody but her. This leads to some embarrassing confessions and even some friendships being formed. It also includes a fan favorite romance trope, fake dating. Since this film was released, there have been two sequels, which are also great watches, but nothing compares to the original. This movie is perfect to watch on Valentine’s Day.
2. Kissing Booth
The Kissing Booth is another perfect watch for Valentine’s Day. This is also adapted from a book, written by Beth Reekles. This fun but deep movie is centered around another high school girl who falls in love with her best friend’s brother, who is off limits according to her friend. There are also two sequels following the first film, which also includes a lot of drama, romance, and secrets. This film, which also came out in 2018, is great for Valentine’s Day and anybody who likes a story about forbidden love with a touch of humor.
3. Valentine’s Day
Although it may seem too obvious that this movie would be great to watch on Valentine’s Day, it’s actually a quality rom-com that stars many very well known celebrities. It’s compared often to Love Actually because it is about a variety of people and couples who are all connected through different ways. It’s all about every one of their days on February 14th. Some are adults finding their way through their jobs, while others are high school couples. This 2010 film stars some of the most famous actors and even singers in the industry. These include Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Bradley Cooper, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner, and most famous of all, Taylor Swift. This heartfelt movie with everybody connected is a perfect watch for the day of love.
4. People We Meet on Vacation
Out of these five options, this is by far the newest, which came out on January 9th of this year. This brand new Netflix film is about two college best friends who made a pact to go on a vacation every year so they don’t lose touch. It follows characters Poppy and Alex in another great romance trope, friends to lovers. It was released very recently in 2026, and although it was previously a novel, within a week the film became a fan favorite. This romance is great to watch with friends or significant others on Valentine’s Day.
5. 10 Things I Hate About You
Last but certainly not least, one of the most famous teenage rom-coms of all time, 10 Things I Hate About You. This late 90s movie is extremely well known and was loved by teens when it came out as well as now. It’s about high school sisters, Kat and Bianca whose dad doesn’t allow them to date. This has been his rule forever, until he changed it to that Bianca, the younger, more popular sister could date if her older sister Kat does. This leads to a big plan by Bianca to try to set Kat up with bad boy, Patrick Verona. It’s also followed by an emotional speech that Kat gives which is very famous and is why the movie is named 10 Things I Hate About You. Kat and Patrick are portrayed by Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger, who play their roles perfectly. It’s a great movie to watch on February 14th and will always be popular, even 27 years later.
