Over the past three weeks, the Spanish Club has been hard at work collecting donations for families in need—and thanks to the generosity of our community, the drive was a massive success!
Our Clothing & Toy Drive brought in an overwhelming number of donations, including clothes for all seasons, toys, and books. The response was incredible, with bins filling up quickly as students, staff, and families came together to support the cause. Every item collected will go toward making a difference in the lives of children and families who need them most.
Last Sunday, we successfully dropped off all donations at a center in Newton, which partners with charities to distribute goods where they are most needed. Specifically, we donated to the Big Brother Big Sister Foundation, a non-profit organization that has been supporting at-risk children since 1997. The foundation collects used clothing and household items, using the funds generated to support mentoring programs that impact over 20,000 children and mentors across Massachusetts. Their mission is to provide opportunities, guidance, and resources to help young people thrive, including many children from immigrant families.
To ensure an easy drop-off, we carefully sorted everything according to the foundation’s requirements. Seeing the donations come together after weeks of collection and organization was truly rewarding. This initiative wouldn’t have been possible without the kindness and generosity of our LS community, and we are beyond grateful for everyone who contributed.
A huge thank you to all who donated and helped spread the word! Your contributions will directly support children and families in need, making a real impact. The Spanish Club is excited to continue finding ways to give back, and we look forward to more service opportunities in the future.
If you missed this drive but want to get involved in future initiatives, stay tuned for more updates from the Spanish Club. Together, we can continue making a difference!
