People should try to travel as little as possible and if they do need to travel, they should do it safely.

Since the start of the pandemic, people have been trying their best to stay safe, but some people may still have to travel during this time. The percentage of people traveling has increased since the start of the pandemic, and traveling could also increase the risk of COVID-19 spreading. However, if people must travel, there are many ways they can still reach their destination while following COVID guidelines.

According to CNBC, 45% of people have taken trips since March, 27% took one to two trips, 12% took 3 to 4 trips, and 6% took more than 4 trips. Since so many people are traveling, there are safety precautions that can be followed to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. According to the CDC, you can get fully vaccinated if you are eligible, get tested with a viral 1-3 days before traveling, wear a mask, avoid crowds and stay at least 6 feet away from anyone not traveling with you, get tested 3-5 days after traveling, and self-quarantine for a full 7 days after traveling.

Since traveling is much more complicated now, here are some tips from the International Business Times on how to make your trip safer. Before traveling, you should research if COVID is very prevalent where your destination is and if your hotel accepts tourists. If you’re traveling by plane, you should also make sure to pick an operator that follows COVID-19 safety guidelines. If you are traveling by car, you should prep your car in advance to avoid any potential stops. It may also be helpful to bring a bag to put all of your stuff in. This will make it easier for you to move around from place to place. You also want to make sure you pack extra masks and hand sanitizer.
