On March 31st, Lisa Kouchakdjian (1598 votes) and Radha Gargeya (1671 votes) won the all-town election in all 6 precincts and will be serving on the Sudbury Select Board from this point forward.
Lisa Kouchakdjian, who ran for re-election, will be serving as a Select Board chairman for the next three years. Kouchakdjian strives to create equal opportunity for Sudbury Residents and students, which includes her goal of Sudbury re-joining the Minuteman Vocational School District. She also believes that everyone should be treated equally and kindly. Kouchakdjian would like the Sudbury community to be a safe space for all residents.
Radha Gargeya will be joining the Select Board for his first three-year term. He has many qualifications shown across the various committees he serves on, including 12 years of past experience on the Lincoln-Sudbury School Committee. Along with Lisa Kouchakdjian, Gargeya believes that every resident should feel included and welcome in Sudbury. Realizing that “now, the work begins,” he looks forward to “serving with purpose and gratitude, always guided by what is best for Sudbury.” Gargeya promises to “work to strengthen our infrastructure, support our schools, expand recreational opportunities, and promote sustainability—while ensuring fiscal responsibility and protecting the inclusive, welcoming spirit that makes Sudbury so special.”
The new term begins at the end of the all-town meeting (May 5th-7th, LSRHS Auditorium), where they will take their seats as chairmen for the next three years.
