The LS boys freshman team led by coach Damian Attidore and assistant coach Nicholas have been having a great season so far with a record of 4-3-1. Attidore’s strategy is a formation of 3-5-2 with three defenders, five midfielders, and two at the forefront, so the offense is stacked and when the opposition has the ball they press high without letting them take a breath.
The impenetrable defense has only conceded around five goals the entire season with Ryan Spector as its rock. Locking down players left and right, he has stopped many scoring opportunities throughout games, heading the ball without fear or hesitation. If it ever gets past the defense goalies Ethan Cohen and Carson Giunta are there to stop the ball from going in, with high athletic jumps, they soar through the air seizing anything that comes their way. However, their wing backs are essential to the attacking opportunities with Tate as a speedster who can always bring the ball to the corner and send in a cross to the offense.
In the eighteen lies a dangerous predator, Morgan, ready to pounce at any ball with his athleticism. This was all put on display in the Kicks for Cancer game against Concord Carlisle where it was a goal-for-goal game where the defense and offense were playing at their best: blocking shots and taking them like no tomorrow. The match was decided at the end of the last half when Xavier Oliveira placed the ball across the goalie in the top right corner securing the victory for the LS Warriors. Overall the team has had a great performance so far and a promising future for the rest of the season.
