As we approach Midterms Season, where our exams loom in the future, it can be hard to prepare for them and manage your stress. Although midterms can be overwhelming, especially for those taking them for the first time, there are many ways to prepare for them that keep you balanced and happy. If you’re looking for how to get started and how to go about studying, here are some methods that you can try:
- Make a schedule: Map out time to get your materials organized and plan when you are going to study which subjects and for how long.
- Start early: It will make the process more manageable and give you time to review.
- Find friends who you can study with: You can organize study sessions, ask each other questions, and quiz each other on the material.
- Ask Questions: Unsure about a concept? Inquire with your teachers in the weeks leading up to the exam, and utilize Science Academy, Math Cafe, or the Humanities Lab.
- Find what works for you: Different people learn in different ways, so finding the most effective method for yourself will make studying a lot of information easier.
- Take breaks while you study: Relax. Save time in the day for movement, fuel, and rest. You are a person before a student, so go easy on yourself and be proud of your progress.
Lastly, on exam day make sure you eat and take care of yourself! Good luck on all of your tests! You’ll do great.
