TikTok is a popular social media platform filled with billions of short videos. One section of this platform is most commonly known as BookTok. The 15-60 second videos are filled with book recommendations and everything to do with books. Different creators on the app have their favorite books, and there are some that are very popular. Barnes and Noble has even added a BookTok section to their stores and website. These are some of the books that I loved and recommend to others looking for a good read. 

We Were Liars by E. Lockhart

The beautiful Sinclair family, they are perfect and nothing other than that. Every summer the family gathers on Beechwood Island. Cady, her cousins, and Gat spend each and every summer together. Until Cady gets into an accident. Cady does not remember most things from her past, especially a key detail. The ending of this book will leave readers shocked and wanting more answers. 

They Both Die At The End by Adam Silvera 

The day you are going to die you get a call from the death cast informing you. Mateo Torrez and Rufus Emeterio both received the call on September 5th. They find each other through an app and spend their last moments alive together. You’ll fall in love with the characters and the book will leave you on the edge of your seat until the last page. 

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E Schwab 

Adeline LaRue, born in 1699, made the mistake of praying to the gods after dark. She was cursed. No one remembers Addie once she is out of sight. She has left no trace of herself until 300 years later when she meets the one person who remembers her after turning their back. The book jumps through different time periods throughout her life and keeps you turning the pages. 

The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

Achilles is everything Patroclus is not. Yet when they cross paths they find themselves drawn to each other. Patroclus had taken an oath to protect Helen of Sparta. When Helen is kidnapped from her home all men who took the oath are called to fight in the war. Achilles is wanted to lead the war, as he is the son of King Peleus. Achilles joins the fight to bring Helen back. Patroclus, not wanting to leave him, follows. This book leaves you falling in love with the two of them and wanting the best for them. This new take on Greek mythology and the Trojan War is a book that you won’t want to put down.  

The Selection Trilogy by Keira Cass

Set in 2104 in Illéa, Prince Maxon is looking for a girl to spend the rest of his life with. In this country where everyone is divided by class and given a number (a caste), there is a contest (almost like The Bachelor). Girls from each and every province enter their application to be hand picked by Maxon himself to come to the palace. When America enters she is just a normal girl from Carolina, but what comes next she could have never predicted.
